Inspired by “The English Woodworker’s” small cabinet. I used rabbets and dados to assemble with nails. I nailed a bead to the face and just need to finish the back. project that I got to use the Stanley 78 and 50 extensively. The back will be either shop lapped or tongue and grooved with a bead. Once finished I will paint it.
Having fun making this, but when I do it again, I will construct it differently.

The next one will be constructed with dados, similar to the wall clock, instead of rebates and nails. Then I would dress it up differently. This case, I just wanted to give my rebate plane a work out and try with cross grain rebates. Fun project and I got to work on planning, beading, rabbeting and round overs, but the next cabinet will be more refined.
Re did the bottom molding because of a gap was unsightly to me and decided to add additional molding to the bottom.. It took me two tries to make the cove like Paul did in the wall clock series. I was hoping to get the back done today, but didn’t.. oh well, always next week right?

Approximately 16″ high 12″ wide 4″deep. It’s going be a cabinet for the bathroom. Part of the molding is made with hemlock, while the rest of the cabinet is made with yellow pine. Not much worried about the different woods because it will be painted. Not sue what color yet…. That’s the warden’s choice, I’m just the labor.
Here is the display case. The glass is not in yet and the certificate will be matted and attached to the back. There is a medal that will be on a little tripod stand sitting in front of the certificate. Turned out pretty nice.
