I needed someplace to store all of my drawing equipment. Â So I expanded on Paul’s box making lesson and came up with this small version of a Shaker lap desk. Â I used pine except for the breadboard ends of the top and there I used maple. Â Finished with three coats of amber shellac and wax. Â I like the tone of the amber but it readily shows built up areas of finish. Â Lot of fun and good practice for what I have learned so far.
Thanks for looking.
Thanks Ken!…..and you are very welcome.  Glad to here  that you might have a use for it.
Nice work Greg. I’ve always liked some of the campaign style items and that is one of my favorites.
Gregory,
You are so bad!!!!
Why?
I made my first box and gave it to my wife. Of course it was a tad bit too small for her, so, she wanted me to make another one. I thought I would make one in oak with the sliding top. I just bought the wood this morning. However, this evening just before I am writing this, I was looking at your Desk Build and who happened by? You guessed it? My wife. And who now wants your Desk Build? Thanks buddy!!!! lol
Jim
Sorry about that Jim…but I know how you feel…I have been told that I need to make at least three more!
Hey Greg, Love the desk and love the drawings, very nice work in both camps. Nice recording of your work too.
Paul

Steve
PS: Is that a Paul Sellers style bench ? Â I am in the middle of one if it is.
