evil bay!  the link doesn’t work, at least not from my phone…    Which is a good thing, because I have enough tools for now.

    cheers,

    Dan

Thanks Greg, looks like a decent plane for the money right now.  I won’t be bidding though.

Sorry guys (@dborn @crance  )  I tested the link after I posted about the 5 1/5 plane, but I should not assume that the ebay fanciness would work for everyone. Thanks Gregory ( @gman3555 ) for translating the link for me. … Robin HC

Thanks for the link.  I finally won a No. 4 last week which I hope to receive this week.  I’ve been trying to pick up a jack plane too, but have lost a couple auctions on them already because they got to be too rich for my blood.  I’ll be keeping an eye on this one today though, thanks!

The #4 1/2 and #5 1/2 go for more than the #4 or #5.  I paid $49.95 + $11.84 S&H for mine.  If you like the extra width and weight of the 1/2’s – here is the eBay search to find them:

(stanley, record) (5 1/2,4 1/2,51/2,41/2) plane -(“plane iron”) -(“surform”) -(“lever cap”)

    This gives you listings that:

    1. must have either “stanley: or “record”
    2. must have any of these:  “4 1/2” or “41/2” or “5 1/2” or “51/2”
    3. excludes “plane iron” and “surform” and “level cap” to see only full planes

    Happy Shopping !
