Hi all,
I have just acquired a mint complete Stanley No.50 plane the blades still have a waxy coating on. I’m missing the instructions and the only thing I can find on how to use it is the Paul Sellers video on the Record equivalent which only shows the basic use cutting groves. It comes with a fence and a depth stop which are similar to those on the No.78 however the is another stop that fits on the sliding section that holds the wider blades that just gets in the way what is it for? I’ve had a play with the widest blade on a chunk of pine and struggled to keep it in the grove. Any general tips on using it would be greatly appreciated.
Pete

I just Googled Stanley No 50 plane and that is one of the responses.
I opened it and found a file of the manual.
Hope this helps.
