Hi,
Has anyone had any experience making a stopped groove with a plough plane?
This is to fit a base to a large box… I don’t wish to go down the route of ploughing into and through the dovetail and then plugging on this occasion and wish to cut a concave shape on the corners of the base (ply wood) and slot it into 4 grooves one on each side of the box.
However I’m not sure if this is something that is done? or done easily?
Anybody had a go at this before?
Thanks
Martyn Chick
I will have todo some stopped grooves on my box only have 3/8″ ply. The way I would doit is to chop down with with chisel make small mortise if you like and then use plough plane. Clean up with thumb router.
