Wife asked for matching lamps for our bedroom and this is what I came up with. Pretty simple design, 3x3x12. Built with Baltic birch plywood, hammer veneered fumed eucalyptus and a walnut base.. Could’ve easily made it out of solid wood, but this veneer spoke to me. It has the most beautiful ripple, mottled, grain pattern. Finished with ruby shellac to give it a warm glow.

Really? What’s the matter with it, because I see it fine…

You can’t see the wood! Try taking another with the lamp off.

You should have just said that, because I had no idea what you were talking about.. I’m at work now and will grab a better picture at home in the the sun light. However, I do like how the the lamp glows..

Looks great! I know that I will be asked to build some lamps in the future, so this is good inspiration! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! This was a simple design/build. However, I think it can be easily expanded. I envision laminated pieces being shaped, tapered.

Very nice! Of course, what really matters is what your wife thinks about it!
