Thanks for all the help.
Gonna try Paul’s 2 hammers method then use sawfile to make a rip pattern like he shows on his blog vids.
I’ll report when done.
It’s a nice saw, just not very refined off the bat.
I’ll try and take photos of kerf before & after.

Tonight I got the saw file out and had a go at this saw.
I used the method seen in Paul’s sharpening videos and then gently reduced the set with a hammer on the bench.
It worked like a dream! 🙂
The saw is now easy to start in the cut and cuts faster than before, without grabbing and sticking.
Result!
All I need to do now is remove the lacquer off the blade and I’ll have a saw like it should be.

I have two new backsaws that are both crosscut from the maker. Can I just go right at them filing in Paul’s rip pattern or do I need to “undo” anything first?
