Hi everyone!
I’ve read a post on Paul Sellers’s blog about making the bottom unit of the tool cabinet with panel construction https://paulsellers.com/2013/05/making-the-paul-sellers-tool-cabinet-bottom-unit/
I was wondering if anyone knows how to attach all these panels together? At first, I tought that i needed to do it like the bedside cabinet, but when I read about the dimensions, I understand that it consist of 4 panel construction attach together with a plywood back. I’m a beginner (workbench and two simple projets completed).
Thank you!
In the chest of drawers he used stub tenons on the bottom rail on the front that mated into a mortise in the sides. ep8 is where he makes it and ep10 shows it going together You could do something like that and make your side panels from rail and stile construction with front connecting top and bottom rails with shallow mortise and tenons to connect the two sides. you could use offset mortises and have regular length tenons if you are worried about strength.
Thanks a lot for taking some of your time to answer me, I really appreciate it! I’ll check the chest of drawer episode that you mention. Thanks again!
