Thanks for the affirmation David
I did all operations with hand tools. I was really careful with the resawing, planing the boards was a challenge too. In the end my no 80 was needed as the grain around the knots couldn’t be planed !
I’m happy how most of it turned out. As said before, it was meant As a practice project.
That being said, there are a few errors I wouldn’t dare to leave in a commissioned piece. Check the pics.
Most are faulty resawing. But I managed to hide these where the drawers are.
The door still isn’t to my liking, also possibly because I’m not really happy with this lock. It’s a tad too small now.
In the end it is a good place to keep some less frequently used tools in. I’ve made a few rice bags to keep moisture levels low.
Now I need to make a handle.
As it’s meant to be portable too for when I need to do something away from the shop, I need some thing that fits my hand.
So I’ll be free shaping that, another first.

Your toolbox looks really good. If mine comes out half as nice as this, I’d be delighted.
I’ve come across your thread a little too late to offer any practical suggestions. I guess cutting the locking-catch shorter wasn’t an option because it would have jammed inside the lock housing?
@alan141
I couldn’t cut the catch any shorter, don’t really have any space.
I had to reduce the catch on the carcass already too.
To be honest, I bought the lock after I started making things, another good one to remember. Just buy everything before you start building.
