Hey all 🙂 I just bought a Union #117 spokeshave recently and need to know where can I find blades to fit it. It’s very similar to Stanley #60, but I read somewhere on the ‘net that the blades aren’t interchangeable. I believe I have the original blades that came with it. They are stamped Union Plane Company or something similar. They are quite pitted from age. All I can make out is Union Plane _________.
The replacements don’t have to be original Union Plane blades, but I do want to make this spokeshave sing again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙂
I don’t know where you would get one from a store or anything like that but I do know a guy that could make one.
Woodworkingtalk.com has a user on the forums named Epicfail48. I have a blade made by him and its good quality. I bet if you gave him dimensions or something he could hook you up.
