I have a difficult time following my line on band saw or scroll saw. Where does one focus? I have been trying to watch where I’m at and to where I want to go but it does not work well for me. What should I try
When i freehand a cut i step back sight down the line , align with the blade side and maintain the sight line through the cut.
This gives you a longer reference point.
I love my scroll saw. I try not to put pressure on the blade when I push wood through, allowing the blade to cut without flexing. I’ve found that pressure will cause the blade to want to bend sideways, sending my cut away from the mark.
Also, make sure your blade is sharp, else it may veer.
I have a step switch, which allows me to power the scroll saw with my foot. I can easily adjust my work unpowered.
