Anyone notice changes to the way project videos are navigated? I can no longer see links to all episodes of a project in its intro page. On top of that, each video page has now links to next and previous which are chronologically arranged so one has to sometimes go though multiple links to get from one episode to next (e.g., garden bench intro -> plywood workbench episode 5 –> garden bench episode 1). And some videos are hard to get to at all (e.g., try to get from console table episode 2 to episode 3).
Its possible to see all videos of a project linked to from one page if you manage to get to the project’s category page — e.g.,https://woodworkingmasterclasses.com/category/console-table/ for console table. Possibly caused by some style changes. Pretty lame, though, in my view.
Or is it just me?
13 August 2019 at 4:17 am #598724Hi, @Selva, I just noticed that, too. I generally like all the recent changes, especially login.
For now, you can go to the, well idk what we call it, “category” page for each project, e.g.:
https://woodworkingmasterclasses.com/category/stepladder/
and all the vids of the project are listed there. One way to get there is to click the project name linked at the top of the intro page.
13 August 2019 at 9:46 am #598769Hello!
Sorry about the navigation issues. We planned a total overhaul of the site and at the last minute realised that some existing functionality would be lost. Now we are stuck between two different systems while we give some free users time check their account before we continue the update.
That means we can fix it but not until 30th August. We may be able to fix the issue earlier but rest assured we are aware of the issue and will fix it as soon as we can.
Regarding speed, the site should be much faster now than it was in June. We won’t leave it where it is though. It will be getting faster over the coming weeks and months.
Best regards,
Joseph Sellers
I noticed a similar glitch — after logging in one gets thrown back to the login page. But in all cases logging in had actually succeeded and ignoring the request to login again worked for me. That’s, just go to another link and see whether you are shown as logged in and then go back to the video. May be a temporary issue that has cropped up as the team is still working on updating the look and feel of the site.
I’ve just tried about four or five times to post a reply in another thread, and each time it goes through the motions, but my post does not display. No error messages, nothing.
EDIT: It’s working now; apparently linking directly to a pdf (the one for the workbench) seems to prevent the post from being displayed.
This seems to be the only forum I can use. All the others keep giving me an “Error 524 a timed out occurred – Host Error”. It’s been like this for about three days.
Also, https://paulsellers.com/ returns a ‘Page Not Found’ message.
The site continues to perform poorly for me. I’m located in the southeastern US. Even with cloudflare fronting the site, I get frequent web server and gateway timeouts. It might be time to look into hosting a real time replica of the site and forums in the US. I thought cloudflare offered that, but maybe its an additional charge. I would participate in the forums more often if they weren’t so slow :/

Have you tried a speed test for your internet provider’s service? It could be they throttle back your bandwidth after so much activity a month, which some providers do.
First, try unplugging your model for a couple minutes, then rebooting. If your is throttling your service back without notification, talk to them. They are generally complaint driven.I live in the Pacific NW USA, and have never had an issue with the website, i do have a fiber optic high speed connection.
A speed test I use:
https://www.speedtest.net/8 May 2020 at 1:19 am #660479I find the site slow too. Videos play ok (the most important thing), but navigating around, especially the forum area, is normally slow.
