Hey guys, we seem to be getting a little off track here.
To quote Joseph…..However, for our members who don’t want to tackle the bigger projects yet we thought we could shoot a small project that we could show in two or three episodes.
Do you have any ideas? Something small you want to know how to make?
We have a separate video section for tools and techniques.
Cheers 😉
I’m smiling as well..just don’t know how to do the smiley face..damn,now I really am getting off subject..where’s that coat?
Loads of great ideas here. I’d like to see something small with drawers, introducing how to properly design, fit and finish the drawers in particular. How to get a piston fit, the options for runners/blades, etc. They seem like a simple box at first glance, but I’ve seen week-long courses specifically about building drawers, so I know there’s more to it!
George.
Neglected to say that something with drawers would introduce the half-blind dovetail, too!
George.
I think a small tool box would be a good project I enjoy the popular projects that lots of members have a go at making and post photos of their work.Does the tool box have half lap Dovetails as that is a joint I am waiting to have a go at and would prefer to do so after watching Paul
It would be good if Paul could fit in a small carving project Spatula / Spoon
Lots of good suggestions already, my favourites would be:
a) Something introducing shaping skills like a stool
b) Picture frame using hollow and round planes and mitre joints
c) Workshop saw rack
I’d also be keen on drawer making and a garden gate, but those are more significant projects…
For small projects….
Perhaps a flag box. I would like to see how to make that using only hand tool techniques. That might also introduce glazing.
Another though might be a corner hanging shelf or a sconce.
Whatever the project it will be educational.
Thanks for all the good work.

Mmmmmm, edge treatments with hand tools: routing, shaping or molding profiles with hand tools.
