I would like to make some shelf brackets to support some small shelves, there will only be things like photo frames (home made thanks to the great new project) and the odd nic nak placed on the shelves so there won’t be a lot of weight on them.
That said, I would like to make the brackets as strong as possible.
For the right angle joint I was thinking of using a dovetail so the horizontal section can’t be easily pulled from the vertical section, for the bottom joint I was thinking along the lines of a housing dado joint.
Do these joints sound the right ones to use? Any advice will be appreciated from a very novice wood worker.
Kind regards
Jim
A sliding dovetail works well for small brackets and fixings into wall can be hidden in the dovetail dado/housing.
