I’ve been watching Paul’s series on making a workbench and I was wondering what wood glue he uses to fix the laminated pieces of the worktop together (in episode 2 at around 10mins 20secs)?
Does anyone know or if not could they recommend a good wood glue, please?
Thanks all 🙂

How long do you have before you ruin the glueing together of wood?
Specifically, I’m glueing together five lengths of 3″ x 3″ x 6′ to make up my workbench worktop. I glued the pieces together and noticed a few bows here and there, so I had to undo the clamps a couple of times.
From the moment they were all glued together, through the readjusting of the wood, to re-clamping, it must have been no longer than 10 minutes. They are now all set and I hope, glueing nicely.
Am I going to have issues due to reclamping?

you just have to be careful that your clamps are parallel and straight, and in some cases not to apply too much pressure or it can cause bows and distortion, if the joints are good I’ve found it shouldn’t need ridiculous amounts of pressure to seat properly, always have a hammer on hand because the wood can easily move around. If you have had to reclamp it should be better, the key is noticing it before it sets.
