I made a spokeshave following Paul’s guide, but I am having trouble getting it to work properly. (Using a Stanley 151 was a bit of a revelation about how a spokeshave is supposed to work). I can’t get consistent, smooth cuts without either clogging the mouth and taking too deep of a cut or not taking a shaving at all. I can’t seem to get the alignment right, and I’m not sure what to do. I didn’t get my counter sink holes bored right (wore out too many bits) and it is pulling the blade out of flat. Any suggestions on how to further shape the mouth or adjust the blade to get a consistent shaving?
are the holes loose? and can the blade can shift in them ? if so you need to shim the holes or plug them and redial them so there is no play,
