    Hi all,

Tomorrow we’re flying to New York and I was wondering if any of you know of any interesting woodworking places to visit. Like shops, museums or anything else related to the craft.

    Regards,

I went a couple of years ago and went to Tools for Working Wood. They make some of their own tools to sell (plus other brands) and it was worth a visit to see them and try them out in the shop. And I got to see a part of New York I wouldn’t have gone to otherwise!

Metropolitan museum of art. The American wing has a lot of furniture to see. There is a many styles and time periods. There is a lot of other furniture in the other areas too like the European section. (The Met is by donation, pay what you want! The $25 is suggested) Merchant Museum house is cool. See the furniture that was actually used. There is a flea market Saturdays in manhattan. May find some things but it won’t be real cheap. Lot of Furniture stores in the city. Thos. Moser has a store close to the met. Modern furniture stores in Soho…
