I painted the frame white and the top blue using milk paint. Then I put shellac on top and applied some wax. Here are some pictures:

By now it’s a bit scuffed, but that’s okay with me.

6 January 2015 at 10:46 pm #123155My Bench is a paul Sellers style bench, I painted the legs and apron’s to cover the ugly wood but left the top naked just a couple coats of wax, no other finish. The Bench is a little over a year old now and has held up so far.

7 January 2015 at 2:22 am #123173I haven’t finished my Paul Sellers yet, I just run the stanley #80 scraper across to clean it up on ocassion. I didn’t think of the wax, I have a tin of that around, I might have to try it.
