I usually jump headlong into a project but I have begun to realise work can be made easier and more accurate by some of the workshop essentials Paul refers to such as the diamond sharpening plate, shooting board and saw horses. I also used Paul’s technique for restoring a no 4 Stanley.
I now use them every day and wouldn’t be without them. Thanks Paul.
Great work!
One thing I waited FAR too long to make was the rag in a can oiler. Use it every time I plane now, and most times when I saw. If I lost it I would make another instantly, it’s just such a useful tool even though it sounds insignificant.
