I have a two car garage but I try to limit my shop to just 1/4th of that. Here is a video I posted on another site. Hope you enjoy
12 March 2018 at 2:23 pm #495581I’m 5’10” and I like my bench to be 37″ tall. Paul has written quite a bit about it. Here is what I can remember

I bought a ‘D’ set from him and they are great. He takes vintage bit and restores them to new conditional. It is quite surprising to see how new they can look.
6 November 2017 at 8:14 pm #357679Oops, I Mean “if you apply it with a rag you WILL have better results”
6 November 2017 at 4:24 pm #357421yes, the waterlox is a tung oil based finish and after building up a few coats it was too amber. If you apply it with a rag rather than a brush I don’t think you will have better results. It only needed 4 coats with a rag to build up a nice layer.
Thank you for the complement! I did not build the chairs. Maybe next summer 🙂
28 September 2017 at 4:22 pm #325011Maybe other people can chime in, but from what Paul advocates they are really good. With the savings you would be able to get a saw, or router plane, or #4, or wood for a project
Here are the first 4 posts I could find, and there are many more.

28 September 2017 at 4:05 pm #325000Are you in the UK? Get the set from Aldis. I don’t have them, but Paul (and everyone else) really praises them!
16 January 2017 at 6:43 pm #273751I put a little BLO on it. Good enough for a knife.
Im not worried about the blade coming out. It shouldn’t have a lot of force applied to it
16 January 2017 at 3:08 pm #264621I just cut a kerf, inserted the blade, and then filled the kerf with epoxy.
That blade isn’t going anywhere
6 September 2016 at 11:42 pm #139959I have never been to a car boot sale, but I think they are. Just a group of people setting up tables selling stuff.
6 September 2016 at 11:40 pm #139958For what it is worth, I bought all my lumber from Lowes. 2×4 for the top/legs/stretchers. 2×10 for the apron and 1×10 for the well.
I let it sit in my garage for a week and started to build. I only planed the rounded corners off the top and that was after it was laminated. That was 1 year ago last month. No problems yet
29 August 2016 at 9:14 pm #139767Hot and humid, I would wait until a coat is fully dry to the touch before doing the next one.
In your situation, just give it time. It should dry up. If after 2 days (3 tops) it is still tacky, I would call and ask waterlox
As far as coats, it doesn’t really matter. In my experience 4 coats is enough, but I have done 2 (smaller projects that won’t have much wear) to as many as 6-7 for spoons! The finish is food safe after it cures (about a month) and from what I can tell really protects the wood.
As far as a satin finish, test this first but putnanfew coats on scrap and buff it with wax when dry. That might bring the sheen doen
Side note, I do wipe the spoons. Brushing those is a pain 🙂
