Looks great. Mine is more like Paul’s design. I also keep my planes underneath the bench. Made a unit on castors that sits under part of it. 2 lower drawers with a shelf on top for my main planes. Even though I have a tail vice I haven’t put in any dog holes.
6 December 2015 at 1:46 pm #132908If there is no incoe stream, then there will be a lot less sharing and everyone looses. Paul makes money from copyright material but shares other content. Mainly tools and techniques shared and projects need to be paid for.
I forget who said it, but a long time ago now, that sharing things on the Internet for free was a good ay of publicing paid for content. Both are needed. Paul is altruistic, but also needs to make an income.

Nearly forgot the link:

30 November 2015 at 3:50 pm #132764I prefer tools to work, not look pretty. Until I made this marking knife I used a similar stanley knife to Paul. It is at least 40 years old. However, I prefer the one I made feels better in the hand (perhaps its the wooden handle) and leaves a clearer mark. Possibly because one side is flat and polished and the other has 2 bevels forming a point. But feel free to find out what a spade bit looks like, nothing to do with a garden spade. To help you see:

27 November 2015 at 5:45 pm #132740I recently made my own using a 6mm spade bit. Pleased with it so far.
20 November 2015 at 4:59 pm #132567When I made mine I glued up 7 with no problems. Used a lot of glue and made my own threaded rod clamps.
18 November 2015 at 2:37 pm #132514I made one from some round 01 steel and an old file handle. works well.
