Bench Stool: Episode 1
In this episode, Paul talks us through the design and layout of the bench stool. He then goes on to mark and cut the mortices making use of the mortice guide and shows how to angle the ends of the mortice.
Making Wooden Drawer Handles
In this video, Paul shows how to make your own handles that can be used for drawer pulls. They are fixed into the front of the drawer using a tenon and then wedged and glued to hold them firm. This design and the techniques can be adjusted to make all types of handles.
Walking Cane: Episode 4
In this concluding episode, Paul goes through some of the different designs for walking canes and walking staffs. He shows us how to do the double through tenon, shape a double twist, and shows how to apply a stain and a brush on finish.
Walking Cane: Episode 3
In this episode, Paul shows us how to create the transition from the shaft into the handle, and then glue and wedge the handle onto the shaft. He goes on to show us how to put a twist in the shaft, mostly using the rasp and card scraper.
Walking Cane: Episode 2
In this episode, Paul shows us how to shape the handle of the cane using stop-cuts, the chisel, the spokeshave and rasps. He also shows us how to shape the shaft so it is round in cross section at the bottom and oval at the top, with a gradual taper. He will show us how to put a twist in the shaft next week.

In this video Paul shows how to sharpen a auger bit. A brace and bit is a fantastic tool set which will allow you to bore holes more easily and quickly than you might imagine. However, unless it it sharp it will never perform properly.

Tool Chest Episode: 16
The final episode in the tool chest series! In this epic episode, Paul shows us how to glue up the drawer, fits the plywood draw bottom and fit the drawers to the box. He also shows us how to fit some beading inside the top of the box, using a poor man’s mitre box, and various methods of fixing. All that’s left then is a few finishing touches such as the stay and handles.
