Making one or two Shoji panels is an unexpected and very welcome delight — real therapy for your nerves! In this final episode of the series, Paul covers hingeing the panels together neatly and with perfect precision, and then applying the beautiful paper. An experience in and of itself, the panels are pretty, functional, practically easy to make, and not at all pretentious or overly adorning. Everyone should make one, whether they need one or not! They come together quickly, at a small cost, and both Japanese and Western hand tools and methods will work equally well, so go with what you own, follow the ethos of pure simplicity, and just enjoy the weekend of creating beauty.
