it helps to use quartersawn wood for the sides, that will minimise movement, also using dovetails is a good idea because they allow the wood to move, do not worry too much about using poplar and oak, it should work fine, try not to overthink it. Using well seasoned wood also minimises movement as well, but not many people have access to properly air dried wood.
it’s a good idea to make a prototype first before using expensive wood out of pine, especially if you’ve never made a drawer before!
