I am in the process of building my second Sellers workbench, this one being the pine version he made in the garage setting. I am using construction timber, a mix of 70x35mm pine for the bench top and 90×35 pine for the aprons, legs and rails. I have had to leave the laminated rails for a couple of weeks after laminating and one of them has developed a bow, about 2-3mmin the centre of the rail.
I am sure that if I don’t plane out the bow, working both sides, I will either get a twisted leg unit, or gaps in the tenon joints. How thin can I go before the tenon shoulders get too small with a 19mm tenon, and yes, I have chopped the mortises at that width. Thoughts anyone?
