I had a headache when I did mine as well. It’s difficult to get it all together before the glue bites too hard. One thing I did that helped was to put glue on one edge of each of the boards being laminated, lie them down next to each other, then bring them together quickly all at once, only tightening the clamps a little so I could knock them into place and get them level, then tighten the clamps some more. It takes practice but you get a lot of it on the workbench build!
I had a nightmare when laminating the aprons because they warped slightly after glue up. I spent some quality time with my #4 (didn’t have the 5 1/2 then) getting the apron tried and true again. Ugh. Really wish I had access to a planer thicknesser then!
