I wanted to make this a soon as I saw Paul’s video come out. I started it in France on holiday. They sell oak in E20 planks in Brico Depot. I bought a few cheap tenon saw of 12tpi from the store to cut the dovetails but they came out ok.The handle bar is made from a piece of pine, but this week I finished the tray with some tulip wood (poplar) that i had back in London. A splash of Danish and maybe some wax and brush to follow. Very happy with this. Thank you, Paul, for your skill sharing and infectious enthusiasm for fine, accurate work.

I used pine for the main box, oak for the handle, and ebony for the pins; and I used poplar for the tool tray and for the interior bottom of the main carrier box.

Craftsman-style tool carrier based on the design by Paul Sellers, with some elements borrowed from Jim Tolpin’s book on toolboxes. Made out of pine (recycled IKEA) and whatever passed for ‘mixed hardwood’ at the DIY store (meranti I think).

Made from poplar and sapwood black walnut with through tenon oak bar and handles with black walnut pins. Dovetail box from oak pallet wood. All finished with blonde shellac and beeswax furniture polish.
