Long Board by John Moore
My 17 year old daughter wanted a long board, so I suggested that we should just make one. We bought rough sawn lumber, using hand tools we cut, planed, and glue-up an over sized panel. Then finished the final shaped with chisels, #4 smoothing plane (for the round overs), and scrapers. We used shellac to seal the hickory, mahogany, and basswood. Then used oil-based out door poly to add protection.
