I don’t have any experience with the new Stanley replacement irons. They’re probably Ok but not great quality. eBay is a good place to look for older Stanley plane irons and chip breakers. Some of the older irons are very good quality. I have a couple of Hock replacement irons made from A2 steel. They work well and hold an edge for quite a while. Also, they’re not so thick that you have to do a lot of fettling to your plane, possibly just file the mouth a touch wider.
