Flatten the backs on your usual stone.
Then:
1. Set up the plane and use it to cut a profile, power through it you have to it doesn’t have to be pretty.
2. Sand down the wood, apply honing compound or wrap it in sandpaper (depending on how rough the iron is)
3. then put the iron in the plane and make it protrude slightly.
4. Use the wood with compound / sandpaper to run across the plane sole and iron. Protect the sole with tape.
