I’m currently at this stage and waiting for next episodes. Since I’m new to hand tool woodworking and still in process of learning basics I have found this project very valuable and I’m enjoying it.
What I have learnt so far? Well, I can relative well follow line when sawing but I can’t stay plumb. It takes me forever until I plane edge of board square to face side, I’m usually high on one side and found very hard to correct it. Making grows without plough plane is possible using chisels, saw and router plane although having plough plane will be very nice. Crosscutting without knife line is asking for trouble. Shoulders of my tenons are not completely tight. And, raising panel with hand plane is good physical exercise.
Anyhow, at this moment I’m more interested in journey than in final product. And I’m having fun so what can I ask for more…
