Hi,
This is my first post on this blog, and thought to share my first attempt at one of the small projects here.
This was my 2nd try at a shooting board. The first one was a bit of disaster trying to make from plywood.
My 2nd try on pine. I did my layouts following Paul’s video and Greg’s diagram. I did the right angle first and it came out perfect.
I went to bed feeling good about my small acccomplishment. Next day it hits me while at work, is that cut on the correct end of the board?
So here it is a lefty shooting board (I’m a righty).
guess I’ll do the 45s for pratice and start again.
I was so focused on the little details that i missed the big picture, which was staring at me the whole time.
It did feel great getting it truly square though..
I’m truly enjoying this…Marilyn

But your mistake is not really a mistake. You made a servicable shooting board. Just pretend it was intentional and put it on e-bay as “rare shooting board for left-handed” 🙂
If it makes you feel any better, when I made my shooting board I followed Paul’s directions to the letter; everything was going beautifully then I had a sudden thought: Hang on, I’m Left Handed!! 😀
The board I originally cut is still doing sterling service – when I need to set my plane. It’s now about two inches thinner than it used to be.
I did manage to make myself a left handed shooting board in the end and it’s working a treat.
