The famous Work Zone chisels (the good ones with German style hardwood handles) will be on sale starting next Sunday in American (and perhaps Canadian) Aldi stores. The price is still $6.99 for a set of four. Expect them to be sold out within a week. They will not be available online and they won’t be available again until (maybe) next year.

These are good, serviceable chisels and I would recommend them to anyone who doesn’t already have a good set of bench chisels. I’ve been using a set for the last 3 years and am very happy with them.

In Richmond, Virginia, not only do none of the Aldi’s ever have them, the staff don’t know what I’m talking about. >sigh<

I picked some up a couple years back when I happened to be in Aldi to get some food. I wonder if I just got lucky that they were in stock.

According to the sale flyer that I picked up yesterday, they will go on sale starting next Sunday, September 9, 2018. (Some stores MIGHT bring them out early.) Expect them to be sold out within a week.

Like many non-grocery items at Aldi, the Work Zone chisels are a promotional item that are only available for about a week, once a year. Get ’em while they’re hot!

the recent aldi chisels I saw no longer have wooden handles, they were plastic and much bulkier, I wonder if they are a different type?

The ad shows the wooden handled ones.

The current ones in British Aldi stores have plastic handles, I’ve not seen the wooden handled ones for some time.

They look like the same, I will grab extras in case anyone needs some and can’t find them

Good, glad I didn’t miss them. I heard they came out around Father’s Day and was disappointed when we couldn’t find any.

The wife sent me out for a gallon of milk, so I went to Aldi hoping they might have set out the chisels a day early. And they did!

They had 2 displays w/ 4 sets each – a total of 8 sets. Might be an indicator of what will be available at your local sore.

They’re out a day early. I bought them all. My friends and coworkers have all been waiting for these.

I should have mentioned that they also have sets of 6 chisels (3 big ones and 3 little ones) at the same price–$6.95. The ones I got a couple of years ago aren’t half bad.

Hmmm, my Aldi didn’t have that. They had a set of files.

Sorry, Anthony. I meant to type “files”. For anyone who can use a good basic set of files, these are well worth picking up.

FYI, I picked up 2 sets today at the Aldi store in Lake Grove, NY. They only had the 4 chisel sets. there were about 6 sets left.

The Aldi that I went to yesterday was down to 3 sets of chisels and about twice that many of files.
