Any guesses on what type of wood this is?

It is from a cheaply made kitchen table that began to fall apart after a few years. I was going to toss the whole thing but realized it is actually real wood. It had a very thick coat of some sort of gel stain or paint. I think the dark accents in the pores and grain are from the stain or paint that was on it. Just as reference, the workbench in the background is Southern Yellow Pine and the Vise Jaw is Oak. Any guesses would be helpful because I would like to save to wood and use it in a project in the future. Thanks.

I’d guess that it’s rubber wood. A lot of inexpensive imported furniture is made from it.
Thanks for the replies! I looked up Rubber Wood on the Wood Database and it appears to indeed be Rubber Wood. It isn’t the most desirable wood, but I think it is worth hanging onto for a cutting board or something. Thanks again!
