I noticed in Paul’s workbench video that he only planes two sides of the aprons to get them square. I am assuming that this means I don’t have to worry about planing the other two sides and making the stock four-square? Is that correct?
Hey, I know this is an oldie but figured I would offer some insight. I’ve been using said bench for about 3 years now on and the reason to square the ends (and top long edge) is in the event you decide on adding a tail vise. Having everything square before attaching it to the legs and top makes squaring them easier. So not 4 square but 3 square, since the squareness of the bottom edge doesn’t matter.
