Just some thoughts…
Seems that people here have been talking about projects they can teach to their kids/grandkids. Spoons and stuff are great but why not boomerangs? Kids love to play and spoons are no fun to them ;).
It’s a good exercise for any of us too. You can shape it in so many different ways: coping saw, spokeshave, chisel, rasp. Probably a great way to get to know these tools.
The thing is, it comes in so many different shapes and forms. You can play around with it and invent your own. How you orient the grain also affects its behavior.
And above all, it’s just pure fun to throw 🙂
