Inspired by the recent project featured here. 10 inches by 15 inches and 8 1/2 inches tall. Made out of Home Depot Poplar. Raised panel lid. Walnut drawer pull.

Looks beautiful! How did you tackle the raised panel door?

I think the “standard way” the frame is joined with mortices and tenons, plowed a groove on the inside of the frame pieces and raised the panel with a hand plane.

It is time consuming compared with making a plain lid but it’s not too hard to do. It really dresses a project up I think.

Very nice job, and you are right that the way (or one way?) to make that top is with standard frame and panel joinery. This is a lot like the lid of one of Paul’s toolboxes. I also like the poplar. This “tulip” poplar will probably age to a nice light browning color that I quite like. Thanks for sharing.
