Episode 4 of the bookshelf project goes goes over creating the bull-nose roundovers around the top piece of wood. I’ve used this technique on the coffee table, and it works well. I, however, am also an old-time/antique hand-tool addict. In my collection, I have a Stanley 45 combination plane, and the equivalent Sargent 78 (79?). I’m also keeping an eye out for a Stanley 55. I believe these combination planes are often used to create the bullnose roundover. I would love to see a video using one of these planes in this application. Down the road, I’d also like to see one of these planes used to make crown-molding, or some such.
Thanks!
