I’ve tried to recut saw teeth 3 times on the same disston dovetail saw I bought on ebay. After improperly cutting the teeth, I filed them down each time and used Paul’s method from the “recutting saw teeth” video. I modified the process a little and after opening Christmas gifts this morning I finally finished the filing process. It took a long time because the teeth are too big for a dovetail saw, 8 tpi, but now I understand how to file properly. The larger teeth aloud me to see how the file was reacting with the teeth. I could see the difference between teeth that are flat, unsharp versus teeth that are pointed and sharp. The saw cuts great and actually cuts an identical kerf in comparison to my new veritas rip saw, which is 14 tpi. Merry Christmas!
