Tagged: bowed cupped
Ive just made the dovetail box up to the third episode and noticed that to get pine wide enough for the base but reasonably thin (say 10mm) it is prone to cupping or bowing. The piece I used was slightly cupped and I wasnt sure how to best correct it and its quite apparent if the base is just glued to the box rather than rebated inside. Is it best to try and plane the wood square or would you just glue and clamp it, trusting the glue to hold the board flat?
