Hi, thought I’d share a quick recent project. I enjoyed making it. Box is in mahogany, and this was the first time I have ventured out from using pine. Paring end grain was much easier vs pine, but fitting dovetails required more accuracy than with pine, resulting with more gaps than I’m used to. Pictures are of the better side, of course 🙂
That wood is really beautiful. You’re so right about the difference between other woods and pine. I recently was using maple and planing the end grain was so much easier. But doing dovetails requires a lot more precision in hardwoods.
