I don’t think it matters much. There was a discussion early this week (I think) that suggested offsetting the edge joints on a dovetailed box. I think that’s a good idea. The idea being if all the joints line up, and the glue fails, you end up with 2 boxes, separated by the failed glue line. Then again, if you plan for that glue failure and place it strategically, you won’t have to saw the box lid. 😉
