I usually build acoustic guitars, they have that one all important joint,
the dovetail joining the neck to the body. So I thought building this
end table with every bit of 40 actual joints…could really help
my guitar building…and give me nice break too…
I found that i enjoyed it so much…Im thinking coffee table….

Also, I see some pegs on the legs – are they ornamental or functional?
12 September 2015 at 3:42 am #130337The inlay design is a merkaba symbol sacred geometry for the light body, two pyramids inverted into each other, actually a 3 dimensional star, Egyptian mainly. Yes, I did the inlay with a router guides and a chisel to do the points and I also had to build a shooting board for the angle of the inlay points, 120 degrees. The joinery is a bit complicated as you see the bottom shelf and upper apron supports are in a horizontal position so I just added some walnut dowels through the finished joint. Every time I look at it I am amazed.
