I have just completed my box up to the end of Episode 5 , I used the clamp in the vice method of holding the sides to plane the groove for the first time It worked brilliant . I used my Record No 50 for planing the groves also the first time I have used it on a project.
Thanks to Paul’s excellent instruction video the cutting of grooves is something I would be confident of tackling on future projects.

I used the same clamp in the vise method, but with my Veritas . It worked much better than approaches I’ve used in the past. The thin edge made it a bit tricky to keep the plane level, but otherwise it went well.
