hi all can anyone in the UK recommend an epoxy that i can fill cracks/checks with as ive been asked to do a repair on a cafe table that is made from hundred year old timbers and it has to be done where it is.
Eddy – Hope I’m not too late with this. The JB Weld Kwik Wood works pretty well. I haven’t tried the other, but saw an instructables using it and it seemed to do ok.
Google it: Environmental Castin’ Craft Easycast Clear Casting Epoxy
Eddy, hope I’m not too late, but try http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/
Or http://www.fyneboatkits.co.uk/supplies/epoxy/professional-epoxy-coating/
i have used Fyne Boat Kits epoxy for a cedar strip canoe I made. they give a good service, easy to use product and will provide advice over the phone.
Take care with epoxy, you can become sensitised to it 🙁
Sorry for going slightly off topic Eddy but I just wanted to ask a quick question about epoxy but didn’t want to start a new thread.
When I looked online for a two part epoxy resin the thing that came up first was ‘Araldite’ adhesive, can this be used as a filler or is it strictly for bonding?
