My first shooting board. So stoked to be able to have clean end grain and not remnants of a bad cross cut saw when I want to mark things. Ready to start some joinery!
Any recommendations on what to treat it with, particularly to prevent checking of the end grain pieces or wedges? There’s also a lot of marks on rhe top from the router plane.
Looks good. I’m pretty sure I left mine unfinished. It’s been in service several years now. But it has gone out of square on me a couple of times. When that happens, I need to plane the reference surface of the wedge to get it square again. Remember to check yours for square once in a while.
