Today was the grand opening of a seasonal flea market in my area. Last year was a bust, but this year had so many good tools. I got a brace, egg beater drill, and a draw knife for 30$. That may be steep for some of you, but in my area a brace alone can cost 25$.
It is all in great working order and needs no work. I’ll probably touch up the paint on them and clean dirt off, but what little rust there is isn’t heavy and comes right off. The egg beater needs the gears cleaned, but 5 minutes will solve that.
Anyone in the Seattle area should go to the Boom City Swap Meet in Tulalip (behind the casino) on weekends. I only wish I had brought more money with me 🙂 I had to pass up a 100 year old dovetail saw because the guy wanted $20. I would have paid for it if I had the money as they typically go for twice that when I find them.
Nice going Jotato. I wish I could find decent flea markets in my area (near San Jose, CA). If you’ve never used the hand brace before, you’ll love this thing. Mine bores through wood like a hot knife through butter.
