I just wanted to start a topic on frame saws. I have never used one but I am curious.
I don’t think I would use a bow saw but a frame saw I could see myself using possibly for ripping or resawing stock to get thinner materials.

Wow Ken, nice link in that thread. That looks like a nicer way to resaw than with a hand saw. Plus it’s from Roubo’s time so that’s fun. Nothing new under the sun.

I have two frame saws and three blades, one for ripping, cross-cut and turning, but I mainly use the frame saw for ripping stock to width. For me, I just clamp the work to my bench and saw away. I am tall (6’4″) so whenever I can stand up right and work, my back says thank you! I can also resaw with my ripping blade, but don’t need to often.
