    Folks,
I about to embark on a wall hung cabinet project… similar to Paul’s but about 1/2 the width, with only 1 door…
I’m going to hang it using a “French Cleat”…

Pretty much all of my projects I make using recycled wood… The bulk of materials for this one coming from a battered old chest of drawers, (obtained from someone on freecycle)…

However, for the French Cleat I have a suitable sized piece of 3/4” plywood, which is in excellent condition… Is this suitable for use as a French Cleat or does the fact that it’s laminated mean it’s a bad idea?

    Thanks for any thoughts,
    Regards,
    Matt

3/4″ plywood is a perfectly adequate material for a French cleat.

    Thanks…
Though I’ve since had a rethink on the hanging method anyway!
    Regards,
    Matt
