Gardening Totes

Now that it is warming up and the wife is starting to weed and get the garden ready, I made a tote for her and a 2/3 size one for my daughter to help mom. The totes are poplar finished with Behlen Sea Blue dye, wipe-on poly, and natural hemp macrame on the large tote’s handle. There is also a cork bottom liner in the large tote.
It was a fun weekend project and I hope to see them used for many years.
Hey, nice going Derek. That dye really looks interesting. I like that you can still see the wood grain.
And great use of “hemp”. I understand you guys have lots of that in CO (haha).

The blue-green of the dye doesn’t come out well in the pic, but its very nice on the varied colors in the poplar. It looks pretty cool.
And yes, Matt, the “hemp” is growing like a “weed” here in Colorado. Ha!
